I have a message for those who feel afflicted with a running tape of disturbing thoughts, or who are stuck on the same repetitive behaviors, or who are plagued with fears that others deem irrational: I can help.
Violent or unreasonable thoughts or behaviors are difficult to acknowledge. Too often, they result in isolation or detachment. I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space to share burdens and learn the skills to conquer them and regain control over your life.
Trained in evidenced-based therapies that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure-Response Prevention (ERP), I work closely with clients in a team approach to design a treatment plan custom tailored to each individual. I believe in using evidence based practices in conjunction with my natural insight, intuition and compassion.
I understand that no two people experience anxiety, depression, or OCD in the same way and that there is no one-size-fits-all therapy that works for everyone. As such, clients are not all expected to fit within the standard once-a-week, 50-minute session. Patients who require a 2-3 hour ERP session twice a week, a home visit, or telephone therapy sessions, have the advantage of my thorough patient-centered commitment.
My approach is to draw from many theories depending on the client’s unique challenges and personality. Clients can count on a highly flexible approach.
I am particularly passionate about helping clients to tame and conquer OCD. I have been trained in Exposure Response Prevention Therapy from the International OCD Foundations' Behavioral Therapy Training Institute and remain on the leading edge of the latest research and most effective treatments.
